The slick tires have experienced several changes for the 2020-2022 homologation cycle. The most notable change is the larger front tire diameter. The circumference has increased from 33.75” (857 mm) on the previous 5.0/10.5-6 to 35” (889 mm) on the 5.5/11.0-6. The tread width has also increased from 4.5” to 5.125”. The larger diameter has reduced the pitch sensitivity on certain Superkart chassis and the wider contact patch has improved overall steering response and grip under braking.

The rear construction has been modified to increase lateral grip, stability, and reduce tire degradation over an entire race meeting. Hoosier has also tested and successfully increased the maximum speed rating on our new CIK slicks from 135 mph (220 km/h) to 143 mph (230 km/h). The R60B has proven to be a durable, high performance compound and will continue to be the rubber of choice for the superkart slicks in 2020.

Hoosier’s new Superkart W3 rains are equipped with the latest rain tire technology that has been race proven in other sprint and solo kart applications. The increase in wet traction allows drivers to maneuver effortlessly in full wet conditions. The new CIK slicks and wets will be released globally on January 1, 2020.
