Hoosier Launches New Spec Tire for NP01-EVO Prototype

LAKEVILLE, IN – Hoosier is proud to release a new radial slick for NASA’s NP01-EVO Prototype class beginning in 2021. The “NP01” tire is engineered with a unique construction that utilizes the most advanced technology available in the market today. The tire structure and compound were carefully selected to extract all the available performance generated by the NP01-EVO’s lightweight aero design and impressive power to weight ratio. The dry compound is considered a “R” spec and provides exceptional levels of grip without compromising consistency and durability.

Below are the tire specifications for the slick and wet.

Item #  Tire Size Application Tread Width Approx. Dia. Approx. Circ. Measured Rim Section Width Compound
 43726  235/620R17 Dry 8.8" 24.3" 76.5" 9.0" 9.6" NP01
46170  P225/45ZR17  Rain 8.8" 24.8" 77.0" 9.0" 9.5" W2

The W2 compound has been selected as the control wet for the NP01-EVO in 2021. This rain tire uses the same tread pattern as the H20, but is lapped with a softer, higher wet traction compound that is more appropriate for lightweight single seater cars.

The new NP01 slicks are expected to be in stock by March 8th, 2021. For more information or to place an order, please contact your nearest Hoosier Racing Tire Distributor.
