During the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Hoosier Tire has been field testing a new compound offering for Sports 2000 cars that participate mainly in the VS2 series.
While this compound is not new, it has proven successful in other classes, specifically FF, F2000, Club Ford, FC. The R60A compound works best in summer season temperatures where track temps often exceed 95F.
In one field test, Brent Gernert used one set of these tires for all three weekend races at Grattan Raceway in MI. Track temps were 100F to 110F. Brent posted his fastest lap of the weekend on the closing laps of the third race which culminated his 3 race win sweep for the weekend.
Hoosier is now proud to offer this combination for sale as a viable option for those who desire to optimize performance, durability, and a more acceptable level of cost containment where other tires with softer compounds struggle to meets the racer’s needs.
